The 2007 Summer Health Event was held on July 24 in the courtyard of the Plainfield Campus. In addition to supplying health information to students and the community, two vignettes were performed and a discussion followed.

"Taboos" is a conversation between a Latina mother and her daughter. Their conversation touches on sexuality, a woman's body, STD’s, and the cultural taboos associated with communication on these topics. "Peer Pressure" was an enactment of how young Latinas may be influenced by peers to let their guard down and the unfortunate results of such behavior.

With subjects and language that they could relate to, the audience was both entertained and interested in the performances. The event concluded with a guided discussion in which the audience, the cast, and Plainfield Mayor Robinson-Briggs offered input and opinions.
